Barbara Nelson Cullen - Vice President, Content & Strategy
Barbara Nelson Cullen has been in the business of healthcare publishing for over 20 years. In her 15 combined years with Elsevier, she has managed both W.B. Saunders and Mosby nursing print and electronic products, with her most recent past role being that of Executive Publisher. In early 2007, Barbara moved to run the Clinical e-Learning publishing program for Elsevier | MC Strategies, and in early 2008 her responsibilities were expanded to include the Revenue Cycle, Coding, and Compliance e-Learning product division. Barbara has cultivated strong relationships with professional associations, such as the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, the Emergency Nurses Association, as well as many key strong content partnerships, such as the Joint Commission Resources, to continue to add to Elsevier | MC Strategies content offerings.
Cindy Tryniszewski, RN, MSN - Executive Director, Mosby's e-Learning
Cindy Tryniszewski, has a Master of Science in Nursing, Adult Medical-Surgical Clinical Nurse Specialist, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She has 34 years of nursing experience, with 17 years spent on the front lines as a medical-surgical and critical-care staff nurse, nurse manager, clinical specialist, and supervisor. Cindy, who has worked in the publishing industry for over 17 years as an author and in various roles as a nursing editor, has a particular expertise in developing print, video/DVD, and online products suited to the needs of practicing nurses.
Cindy has won several awards, including the American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award in the category of Electronic Media for Mosby’s Medical-Surgical Nursing Procedures DVD Series (2007) and she serves as a Category Chair and Judge for the International Health & Medical Media Awards—The Freddie Awards. In her current role, Cindy works with authors, professional nursing and other healthcare professional associations, and subject matter experts, in coordination with her on-staff Master’s-prepared nurses, to develop online nursing and health professions courseware. Cindy has been instrumental is working with the Emergency Nurses Association to launch the highly-successful Emergency Nursing Orientation course, the Emergency Nursing Triage course, and the Emergency Nursing Certification Review course.
Eileen Robinson, RN, MSN - Director, Nursing Continuing Education
Eileen Robinson, RN, MSN, Director Nursing Continuing Education has a Masters of Science in Nursing, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Burns, Emergency & Trauma Nursing. She has 15 years continuing nursing education experience in leadership positions including Executive Director for Continuing Nursing Education overseeing a publisher’s three (3) national nursing conferences and three (3) leading nursing journal CE programs. Eileen has 20 years practice experience in medical-surgical, critical-care, perioperative, & emergency nursing including Clinical Nurse Specialist for 4 critical care units directing orientation, staff development, and continuing education. She directed the development of the blended learning course, Mosby’s Preceptor Course, a collaborative venture with the National Nursing Staff Development Organization (NNSDO); and directed the development of the uniquely designed and international media award winning Mosby’s Essential Nursing CE course which is built on a foundation of regulatory and professional practice standards. Eileen has authored more than 20 feature articles and columns – published in leading nursing peer-reviewed journals and nursing websites. Eileen is Vice Chair of the ANCC Commission on Accreditation, and Chair of the ANCC Accreditation Review Committee.
Colleen Seeber-Combs, RN, MSN - Senior Clinical Editor
Colleen Seeber-Combs, RN, MSN, joined Elsevier in 2004 as a Clinical Editor in the Nursing Division. In addition to her undergraduate degrees, Colleen has a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. Along with 12 years of publishing experience, Colleen’s background includes over 10 years experience in clinical nursing, including as a cardiac transplant specialist and as a critical-care and medical-surgical staff nurse. Since joining Elsevier | MC Strategies, Colleen has been working with professional nursing organizations and subject matter experts to craft clinically accurate, up-to-date content for our online courses.
Donna Massey, RN, MSN - Senior Clinical Editor
Donna joined Elsevier | MC Strategies in January 2010. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from Loyola University of Chicago. Donna’s nursing background includes over 27 years experience with positions held as a neurosurgical and surgical intensive care staff nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago; a trauma clinical nurse specialist at Good Samaritan Hospital in Illinois; and a trauma coordinator at Loyola University Medical Center in Illinois. Most recently, Donna worked as a Senior Executive for the Emergency Nurses Association, and worked closely with Elsevier | MC Strategies to develop ENA’s Emergency Nursing Orientation, ENA’s Emergency Nursing Triage, and ENA’s Emergency Nursing Certification Review.
Elizabethe Westgard, RN, MSN - Clinical Editor
Elizabethe’s educational background includes an Associate Degree in Nursing from Hahnemann University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Thomas Edison State College, and a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from Drexel University. She has over 19 years experience in clinical and academic nursing, and has held positions at Temple University, Drexel University, and Cooper Health System. She has clinical experience in medical-surgical and critical-care nursing and most recently held the position of Nursing Quality & Patient Safety Specialist at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Elizabethe continues to work as a per-diem staff nurse in the cardiac, surgical-trauma, and medical critical-care units at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA.
Moreover, Elizabethe has a wide range of publishing experience. She is a published author of a Fluids, Electrolytes, and Acid Base Balances book, and has also authored and contributed to several book and journal publications, including the Elsevier Medical-Surgical Nursing/Critical Thinking for Collaborative Care by Donna Ignatavicius.
Mary Yost, RN, MSN - Clinical Editor
Mary Yost, RN, MSN, PhD(c), a Clinical Editor, has a Masters Degree in the specialty, Burns, Emergency, and Trauma Nursing; and is completing her dissertation work for a PhD in Nursing Education. Her experience includes 10 years as a full time Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at Drexel University, College of Nursing and Health Professions where she was the recipient of Drexel University’s “Excellence in Clinical Teaching” award in 2005-2006. During her years as a Clinical Assistant Professor Mary maintained her clinical expertise working part-time as a staff nurse in the Emergency Department at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to her teaching position Mary held positions as a Trauma Clinical Nurse Specialist, Trauma Program Coordinator, and staff nurse in the Surgical/Trauma Unit at Hahnemann University Hospital. For more than 6 years Mary has served as an expert witness and legal consultant in defense of nursing care by reviewing and interpreting medical record documentation and providing clarification about issues in medical malpractice cases.
Sherry Shaffer Ratajczak, RN, MSN, CRNP - Clinical Editor
Sherry worked in adult critical care for twenty years in the capacity of staff, nurse manager and clinical nurse specialist; her clinical experience includes Shock & Trauma, Neurosurgical ICU, renal with renal transplant, and cardiothoracic ICU including cardiac transplantation. Sherry then moved to academia and taught for 15 years in various aspects of nursing science to undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Sherry holds a master's degree in nursing administration. Always looking for a challenge, Sherry returned to college while teaching and attained a Post-Master's Certificate in Primary Care Pediatrics; she then worked per-diem in a clinic for under-insured and uninsured pediatric clients. Although she is new to Elsevier | MC Strategies, Sherry has published articles and book chapters while a clinically practicing nurse.
Stephanie Bennett, RN, BSN, MBA - Clinical Editor
Stephanie Bennett, RN, BSN, MBA has been developing nursing e-learning products as a member of Elsevier | MC Strategies’ nursing team since 2005. Throughout Stephanie’s almost 16 years of nursing, she gained clinical expertise in perioperative and medical-surgical nursing specialties. Stephanie has served as an educator, case manager, and preceptor for nurses and other healthcare workers. In her current role as a clinical editor, Stephanie leverages her knowledge of the healthcare arena to develop quality nursing e-learning products.
